A storm chasing, garden planting, sport watching and swing dancing couple…now that’s a fun and interesting pair to photograph! When I received a call from Everett to discuss a potential maternity shoot, I was excited to accept the challenge. At the time, I had never worked with a couple and their ‘baby bump’ before and was honored they trusted me to capture such a special moment in their life journey.
Immediately upon arriving at Everett and Mandy’s home, I was all smiles. Not only was I happy to meet them, but the fabulous natural lighting beaming throughout their house was a photographer’s dream come true. After a quick tour of their home and a peek at their clothing options, we got to work right away. The fascination and awe that exists between these two and the little life inside of Mandy was very apparent. What I loved about this couple is that they had several of their own ideas in mind for the session, however, they also trusted me do ‘my thing’ as the photographer. Although the shoot lasted a little longer than anticipated, Mandy was a good sport as I requested her to stand up, sit down, lay on the floor, endure the intense heat outside and just about anything else you would normally not repeatedly request a pregnant woman to do.
